The Duleep Trophy 2026/27 season has reached its climax
following fiercely contested semi-final fixtures at the Board of Control for
Cricket in India (BCCI) Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. Standout top
performers propelled South Zone and East Zone into the final.

In the second semi-final, North Zone posted scores of 195 and 297, setting a target of 181 for South Zone. South Zone scored 312 in their first innings and successfully chased down the target in the second innings, finishing at 182/3 to win by 7 wickets. The standout performer for South Zone was Tilak Varma, who played a magnificent anchor knock of 116 runs off 250 balls in the first innings to steady his team. Also contributed an unbeaten 51* in the 2nd innings.
In the first semi-final, Central Zone put up totals of 266
and 158. East Zone matched them with 266 in their first innings and managed a
tense chase of a 159-run target, reaching 162/6 to secure a narrow 4-wicket
victory. The standout performer for East Zone was Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who
played an explosive knock of 92 runs off just 81 balls, smashing 7 sixes in the
first innings.
Following these results, East Zone and South Zone have advanced through to the tournament summit clash. The championship match is scheduled to begin on September 6, 2026, at 9:30 AM at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, where both sides will battle for the prestigious red-ball domestic crown.
