Sunrisers Leeds smashed the record books in The Hundred,
posting a colossal 241 for 2 against London Spirit at Headingley to record the
highest total in the tournament’s history. Comfortably eclipsing the previous
record of 226, Sunrisers unleashed a ruthless exhibition of power-hitting,
hammering 21 sixes and 18 fours across 100 deliveries.

The foundation of the record-breaking display was laid by openers Mitchell Marsh and Ryan Rickelton, who put together a tournament-record partnership of 148 runs off just 65 balls. Marsh set an aggressive tone early, blistering 76 off 37 balls with seven sixes before falling in the deep. Rickelton continued his masterclass at the other end, anchoring the innings with a brilliant, unbeaten 94 off 42 deliveries.
When Marsh departed, local hero Harry Brook injected further
chaos into the attack. Brook equaled the fastest half-century in the
competition's history by reaching his fifty off just 15 balls, eventually
finishing on a blistering 55 off 18. Even world-class bowlers suffered during
the onslaught, as the opposition attack was systematically dismantled.
London Spirit made a valiant attempt in response, led by David Willey’s unbeaten 83 off 46 balls, reaching 204 for 6. However, the mammoth target proved far out of reach, securing an emphatic 37-run victory for Sunrisers Leeds on a historic night that redefined white-ball scoring limits in the 100-ball format.
