T20I: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (15 years, 118 days)
The 15-year-old phenom Vaibhav Sooryavanshi etched his name
in the history books by becoming the youngest player to score an international
half-century in men’s cricket. During the 1st T20I against Zimbabwe in Harare,
the left-handed opener smashed a blistering 18-ball 50, decorated with four fours
and four sixes. His explosive knock surpassed previous world records and set a
new benchmark for Indian T20I cricket.
Test: Sachin Tendulkar (16 years, 213 days)
Long before T20 cricket existed, a 16-year-old Sachin
Tendulkar displayed astonishing maturity on his maiden Test tour against
Pakistan in 1989. Facing a formidable pace attack in Faisalabad, Tendulkar
scored a gritty 59 off 172 balls. That knock made him the youngest Indian to
score a Test half-century—a record that still stands untouched over three
decades later.
ODI: Sachin Tendulkar (17 years, 225 days)
Tendulkar features twice on this prestigious list. In
December 1990, during an ODI against Sri Lanka in Pune, the Little Master
scored 53 runs to become the youngest Indian male cricketer to register a Fifty
in One Day Internationals.
