some impressive runs, but a new milestone was recently set at the top of the
chart.

1. Shreyas Iyer – 8 Consecutive Toss Wins (2026)*
Shreyas Iyer etched his name into the record books by
becoming the Indian captain with the most consecutive toss wins in T20
Internationals. Extending a remarkable run that began in June 2026, Iyer made
it eight straight successful coin flips during India’s series opening T20I
against Zimbabwe. He also became the first captain in T20I history to win the
toss in each of his first eight matches in charge.
2. MS Dhoni – 7 Consecutive Toss Wins (2010–2012)
Before Iyer’s streak, legendary captain MS Dhoni held the
record for over a decade. Between May 2010 and February 2012, Dhoni won seven
consecutive tosses in the shortest format. Notably, Captain Cool also
registered a five-match streak during India's triumphant 2007 T20 World Cup
campaign.
3. Virat Kohli – 6 Consecutive Toss Wins (2019)
Known for his fierce intensity on the field, Virat Kohli
sits third on this list. Kohli enjoyed a lucky streak of six consecutive toss
wins between August and December 2019, consistently giving India the tactical
advantage of setting or chasing targets.
Winning eight tosses in a row is a rare 1-in-256 statistical anomaly, proving that when it comes to the coin flip, Shreyas Iyer currently holds the ultimate mid-pitch fortune.
