at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, defeating Pakistan by 90 runs in
the first Test to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.

Opting to bat first, the hosts built a solid foundation with a 311-run total in their first innings. Shai Hope led the charge with a composed 92, well-supported by Kavem Hodge’s 84. Pakistan responded strongly through captain Shan Masood, who struck a graceful 109 alongside Imam-ul-Haq’s 63. However, all-rounder Justin Greaves delivered a historic spell—bowling five consecutive wicket maidens and taking 5 for 27—to restrict Pakistan to 282 and hand the hosts a crucial 29-run lead.
Pakistan’s seamers fought back valiantly in the second
innings, with Mohammad Abbas grabbing 5 for 22 to bowl out the West Indies for
181, setting the visitors a target of 211.
What seemed like a manageable chase quickly turned into a
collapse under unrelenting pressure from the Caribbean fast bowlers. Jayden
Seales spearheaded the onslaught with a devastating spell of 5 for 20, ripping
through Pakistan's top and middle order. Despite an unbeaten 58 from Babar
Azam, Pakistan crumbled to 120 all out on Day 4.
Justin Greaves was named Player of the Match for his outstanding record-breaking bowling performance and overall match impact. The convincing win gives West Indies early momentum heading into the final Test in Port of Spain.
