Former England captain Heather Knight has announced her
retirement from international cricket, confirming that the historic one-off
Test match against India at Lord's will be her final appearance for the
national side. The departure marks the end of a legendary sixteen-year career
at the highest level of the game.

Knight bows out as England Women's all-time record
appearance-maker, having represented her country in over three hundred matches
since her debut in 2010. Over her distinguished international career, the
middle-order batter amassed nearly eight thousand runs across all formats,
including six centuries. She also secured a unique piece of history by hitting
a maiden T20I hundred in Canberra, making her the first English cricketer to
score tons in all three international formats.
Beyond her individual excellence, Knight’s legacy is defined
by her leadership. She captained England in nearly two hundred matches, guiding
the team to well over one hundred victories. Her crowning achievement came in
2017 when she led England to a spectacular home World Cup triumph, lifting the
trophy in front of a sold-out crowd at Lord's, the very venue where she now
closes her international chapter.
