India shattered multiple long-standing milestones. By driving England to a
massive 257/3, Buttler and Brook orchestrated a batting masterclass that firmly
rewrote the modern T20I record books.

1. Highest Individual Score for England in T20Is
- Record Broken: Jos Buttler's breathtaking 131 off 64 balls is now the second highest individual score by an England batsman in T20 International history. His opening partner, Phil Salt, currently holds the record with his 141* which he scored against South Africa in Manchester in Sept 2025.
- Personal Milestone: This was Buttler's 2nd T20I century for England and his 9th overall in all T20 cricket. His only other T20I hundred (101* not out) was against Sri Lanka in T20 World Cup in 2021 in Sharjah
2. Highest Ever Partnership for England in T20Is
- Record Broken: The 233-run stand between Buttler and Brook completely obliterated the record for the highest partnership for any wicket by an England pair in T20I cricket. Their previous best partnership was 182 runs between Dawid Malan and Eoin Morgan against New Zealand in Napier in 2019
3. Highest Partnership Recorded Against India
- Record Broken: This masterclass 233-run partnership is the highest partnership ever conceded by India to any opposition pair in the T20I format, thoroughly exposing their struggling young bowling attack. Quinton de Kock and David Miller’s unbeaten 174* run stand in 2022 was the previous highest partnership conceded by India!
4. A Historic 2nd-Wicket Stand
- Record Made: Their 233-run blitz is the highest second-wicket partnership among all Full Member (Test-playing) nations in T20I history. In the broader scope of T20 Internationals, it ranks as one of the top five highest partnerships ever recorded for any wicket, uniquely standing out as it wasn't an opening stand. Afghanistan’s Hazratullah Zazai and Usman Ghani stitched a 236-run partnership against Ireland in 2019 which is the current highest in this category!
