Zimbabwe Cricket has officially announced a 15-man squad for the upcoming three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against Bangladesh. The series ushers in a brand-new era for Zimbabwean cricket, with star pace bowler Richard Ngarava appointed to lead the national side for the very first time in the 50-over format.

The appointment comes on the heels of a historic week for
the hosts. Ngarava recently captained Zimbabwe to a commanding victory over
Bangladesh in a one-off Test match at the Harare Sports Club, securing a
massive win by an innings and 85 runs. The team will look to carry that
red-ball confidence and momentum directly into the limited-overs rubber.
While Ngarava takes the reins, he will have plenty of
veteran leadership to lean on. Experienced campaigners Sikandar Raza and former
captain Craig Ervine are both present in the squad, providing invaluable anchor
points for a changing side. Additionally, top-order batter Innocent Kaia has
earned a well-deserved recall to the ODI team following his brilliant,
match-winning knock of 140 runs in the recent one-off Test against the same
opponents at the same venue.
The entire three-match series is scheduled to be played at
the Harare Sports Club, giving the home side a distinct home advantage. The
matches are set to take place on July 6, July 9, and July 11.
