Bangladesh’s ongoing multi-format white-ball cricket tour
has suffered a major setback with the confirmation that star left-arm pacer
Mustafizur Rahman has been ruled out of the remainder of the series after
sustaining a hamstring injury.

The experienced bowler felt discomfort while bowling during the opening One Day International (ODI) match. Medical scans subsequently revealed a Grade 1 muscle tear in his right hamstring alongside meniscal degeneration in his right knee.
According to team medical personnel, Mustafizur's recovery
and rehabilitation program will take approximately four weeks. Consequently,
the seamer has flown back home to begin his recovery under official
supervision.
This diagnosis means he will miss the final match of the 3-match ODI series as well as the upcoming three-match T20I series. Fellow left-arm seamer Shoriful Islam replaced him in the playing XI for the second ODI match.
Beyond the immediate blow to the national squad,
Mustafizur’s four-week recovery timeline places a significant question mark
over his upcoming franchise commitments. The pacer was recently granted a No
Objection Certificate to play in the upcoming season of England's tournament,
The Hundred.
Set to become the first Bangladeshi player to feature in that competition, this untimely injury makes his availability for the opening leg of the tournament highly unlikely.
